So glad you stopped by! Here's a little bit about Shelby...
Shelby Dangerfield was born and raised in Billings, Montana as a proud fifth generation Montanan. At a young age Shelby became a song bird and could be found singing almost everywhere and about anything. She was raised by two hard working, business centered minds who grew a substantial business from the ground up and built a life they only ever dreamt of. Watching her parents throughout her youth taught her hard work and practical skills that allowed her to succeed in transferring to a new school at age 12, and thriving during her high school career. She still uses many of her father's business and mindset tactics throughout her days today.
Shelby's love for singing started roughly the same time she started dancing at age 2, and from there her love for the performing arts flourished. Shelby was involved with local musical theater and a local opera company in her hometown of Billings. She also found time for Student Council as the Vice President for four years in high school. With a devout passion for serving people, Shelby loves to be the change she wishes to see in our world.
Following high school she went on to study Musical Theater at Coastal Carolina University. Not only was she a part of a broadway-style production show every semester, she made time to be involved in student government, be elected for a position in her sorority and eventually graduate from the Jackson Scholar Program for Morals and Ethics. This extra 'certification' taught Shelby that philosophical views have a vast array of interpretations and perspectives, allowing her to broaden her understanding of complex concepts.
During her tenure at Coastal Carolina, Shelby soaked in every opportunity on the stage, performing in various productions such as Rapunzel in Into The Woods, Val in A Chorus Line and Johanna in Sweeney Todd.
Shortly after graduation, Shelby moved to New York City where she landed opportunities with Disney Cruise Lines in their Broadway Style Production Shows. She was thrilled to sing on behalf of Rapunzel, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty and a few others in their Broadway Style Main Stage Productions. Shelby eventually earned herself an agent which fostered her professional growth in theater exponentially. While several years in New York City taught her how to be fully independent, savvy in all that you do, and how to hustle, she decided she wanted a different path for her life.
In 2023 Shelby came back to her wonderful home state of Montana where she is proudly working with the Leavitt Great West insurance Group as a Commercial Insurance Advisor. She found a new love for helping businesses owners thrive, with a strong grasp on the value of Captive Insurance. She doesn't serve as a traditional agent because she doesn't believe every business is traditional. She wishes every business to be treated as a Fortune 500 company.
Shelby recently won the title of Miss Montana USA 2024, and she is thrilled to be serving her state on behalf of the Miss USA and Miss Universe Organization. This added to her resume that with strength, diligence, and a strong mindset, you are capable of doing whatever you set your mind too.
As Miss Montana USA and outside of her full time career, Shelby is passionate about making a lasting impact on youth to make wise and strategic financial decisions with her program "Master Your Mind and Win Your Future." During this short program Shelby speaks with high schoolers about why we make the decisions that we do and it starts with our mind. Then how we can break the negative mindset cycle and start winning, with ultimately can lead to mastering your financial skillset.
As well through her initiative Operation Honor Warriors she loves to uplift Veteran's across our beautiful state so there's greater visibility for the Veteran community of the resources available to them in the private sector.
